Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has intervened to tackle the ongoing issues of gas supply disorders during Sehri and Iftar in the Ramadan month and instructs immediate action to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted flow of gas during critical hours.

At an emergency meeting in the evening, the Prime Minister summoned discussions with the CEOs and the top management of SSGC and SNGPL to tackle the problems of low gastrings and disorders in service, Express News reported.

As a result of the meeting, SUI Southern Gas Company announced a 10% increase in gastry pressure to ensure better delivery in peak times.

In addition, gas supply begins to areas located at the end of distribution networks, 30 to 45 minutes before Sehri and Iftar, which helps improve pressure in these regions.

To further monitor the situation, Sui Southern announced the creation of control rooms in both head office and regional offices.

These rooms will supervise the daily gas supply situation, ensuring that complaints related to low pressure are immediately treated and resolved on emergencies.

Meanwhile, SNGPL also promised to comply with the Prime Minister’s directives and assure the citizens that the gas supply in Sehri and Iftar hours would be maintained without failure.

They called on the public to report any problems through the 1199 aid line for immediate resolution.

Yesterday, residents of various areas of Karachi faced significant difficulties due to disruptions in the gas supply in Iftar time.

According to reports, areas including Liaquatabad B area, Liaquatabad 4, the federal capital area and North Nazimabad have been without gas supply, which has caused disadvantages to the residents. In addition, parts of Nazimabad, PIB colony and various blocks of Gullhan-e-Iqbal also experience interruptions in gas services.

However, a spokesman for Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has denied claims of gas breaks. The spokesman stated that the gas supply is functioning normally, with 95% of the areas receiving gas. He acknowledged that there are complaints from the remaining 5% of the areas.

Residents continue to express frustration over the time of these disturbances, especially during the crucial IFTAR period. Before Ramadan, SSGC had announced the plan of gas load for the holy month while securing uninterrupted supply in Sehr and Iftar-Timer.

According to the schedule, the gas supply remained continuously from 1 p.m. 3.30pm to 10pm and from 7 p.m. 03:00 to 9:00 to meet Sehr and ITAR needs. However, consumers experienced gas supply health from 9am to 15:30 and again from 22:00 to 3:00.
