An anti-terrorism court on Tuesday extended the physical custody of Armaghan Qureshi, the most important suspect in the Mustafa Amir murder case, until March 10.
Armaghan was produced in court as part of the ongoing investigation of the high profiled murder.
The court assigned the extension to enable further interrogation.
In addition, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has reported that Armaghan, the biggest suspect in Mustafa Amir murder case, appeared intoxicated and did not give straightforward answers during interrogation.
FIAS Cyber Crime and Anti-Laundering of Money Laundering, which became questioned by Armaghan and Shiraz, which is also linked to the case.
The agency said it requested Armaghan’s laptop and other belongings from the police on February 28, but has not yet received them.
The FIA added that Shiraz admitted to having worked under Armaghan. However, the Agency declared that further interrogation would be conducted when the forensic reports of the suspected electronic devices are available.
Earlier, Shiraz claimed he was pressed by police to admit the crime.
During a hearing for Karachi Court Judge South on Monday, Shiraz told the court that police had promised him a lighter judgment if he agreed to confess.
Shiraz clarified that he was not the defendant, but an eyewitness to the crime and said, “I saw Armaghan brutally murder Mustafa Amir, but I was helpless at the time.”
He further denied any involvement in the murder.
Following his denial, the Court rejected the Investigator’s request to register Shiraz’s confessional statement.
