Four people have been killed by ruthless mugs since the start of the holy month Ramazan, as police have not stemmed the tide of rising violent street crime in Metropolitan City. The latest losses have taken the number of robbery -related deaths so far this year to 18.

In the first incident, 20-year-old Waseem was critically shot while opposing a motorcycle-snapping attempt at superhighway near Punjab bus stand in Sohrab Goth on March 4th. He was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where doctors referred him to JPMC, but he crushed a gunshot wound to his head.

According to a police spokesman, Sho from Sohrab Goth Police Station confirmed Waseem was shot during an attempt at robbery. The body has been moved to a deathhouse when police started the efforts to find their family.

In other events, the 35-year-old cold drink distributor Babar was shot dead by the robbers in Shah Latif Town on March 5. A day earlier, Imran, 28, was deadly shot near Radio Pakistan, also in Shah Latif Town, while 65-year-old shopkeeper Khan Muhammad was shot down in Abdullah Shah Ghazi Goth the 2nd year, the first Ramadan.
