Reliance Industries’ Digital Division, Jio Platforms, reportedly builds a cloud -based personal computer designed to bring artificial intelligence computing to the masses.
The new system does not require hardware and is available on any device, allowing users to develop and implement AI applications with high comput.
During Mumbai Tech Week 2025, Jio InfoComm described President Akash Ambani, son of India’s richest person Mukesh Ambani, the upcoming cloud -PC as a way of democratizing AI capacities.
Machine learning-as-a-service
“We have a consumer application that we will soon be launched. It is a cloud -PC, which is a complete PC in the cloud, which is available in each of your houses, but really be device -tornostic. No hardware. And you can build high calculation of AI applications on top of that. And what you can exploit is the range that Jio wants, ”was Ambani quoted to say of Inc42.
Unlike previous endeavors like the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) initiative, Jios Sky -based AI platform will require users to bring their own devices. Jio’s “Platform Access” aims to scale AI services to millions of users throughout India at lower costs.
One of its upcoming business offers, Jiobrain, will provide machine learning-as-one-service, eliminating the need for businesses to invest in precious infrastructure. “You can just notice Jiobrain and we launch it in the coming quarters as we perfect use cases for it,” Ambani added.
Jio is also targeted at 100 million users for Jiotele OS, its smart TV operating system. As Ambani said: “One of our greatest growth missions of Jio and where we want influence is to connect every home. But with that we open ourselves as a platform for developers. “
Ambani, who called AI, one of the biggest technological revolutions of life, predicted that it would help India maintain economic growth of 10% or more. He also highlighted the need for infrastructure, research and talent to place India as a leader in AI. JIO’s parent company, Reliance Group has previously announced plans to build a new 3 gigawatt AI data center in Jamnagar – a small town in Gujarat – which it hopes to have operational in 2027.
