Losing a remote is really frustrating. As a scatterbrained person is something I do a lot. It’s almost a superpower – yes, if superpowers were useless and annoying.
Losing a remote is a good example of how powerless we are without technology – with the TV back to (or off) and stuck until the blessed “zapper” is placed.
I’ve found ours in the fridge before and I once took it to work, left my wife at home having to see National Geographic all day (there are worse channels it could have been firm on) or pull the plug.
The worst remote controls are the little ones. I’ve gone through three to my Amazon TV Fire Stick, all possibly eaten off the couch (or a cat), but disappeared forever after long hours long searches. I could tape an airtag to it, but this seems to be an extreme measure considering how it is a house -bound object.

What is new threads?
Strands is Nyt’s non-new-new-more word games after Wordle and connections. It is now a fully expanded member of Nyt’s Games Stable, which has been running for a year and can be played on the new Games website on desktop or mobile.
