Karachi: A severed human arm found from a wall in a residential apartment in Gullhan-e-Iqbal Block 19 has been identified as belonging to Abdul Basit, who tragically lost his life in a traffic accident on Sharea Faisal near Nursery a day earlier.

According to police sources, the deadly accident took place on Saturday night. During the collision, Basit’s arm was cut from his body and disappeared from the stage.

Studies suggest that the limb remained stuck in the vehicle involved in the accident and the driver instead of stopping fled from the stage with the body part still in the vehicle.

The authorities now suspect that the driver may later have discarded the cut arm near the wall in a residential apartment before continuing to avoid arrest. Police have launched a search for the driver.

After the discovery, the cut arm was handed over to the victim’s family. A case has been recorded at Ferozabad Police Station on the complaint about the deceased’s brother.

According to the victim’s family, Basit was the father of five and was a resident of Umar Colony near the Baloch Colony Bridge.
