There were questions about whether Eagles would accept an invitation after not doing so in 2018, but Trump told the spectator late last month the team would visit this time.
“They’re coming here. Philadelphia is coming here,” Trump told the business.
Trump also announced the invitation to the team last month.
Eagles to receive the White House Invitation after Super Bowl Lix wins, says Trump
“They’ll be [invited]. We haven’t yet, but we’ll be, “said Trump, who was in Caesar’s Superdome to see Eagles beat Chiefs, 40-22.” I thought it was an amazing achievement of them. Absolutely, they will be expanded an invitation. We do it right away. We do it some time today. They deserve to be down here and we hope to see them. “
Eagles Captain Lane Johnson said a visit to the White House would be a “team decision” after they won the Super Bowl.
“I would be honored to go, regardless of who the president is, but we will see,” Johnson said via Sporticos Eric Jackson. “It’s ultimately a team decision. I’m doing what’s best for the team.”

Johnson, who spent all 12 of his NFL seasons with the franchise, was on the team when it won the organization’s first Vince Lombardi Trophy ever in 2018 and defeated New England Patriots.
However, controversy followed the year when Trump abolished his invitation to Eagles when some players said they would not visit the White House because of the then 45. President’s criticism of those who kneeled or raised their fist under national Anthem to protest against racial injustice and police brutality.
Trump released a statement at the time of his invitation cancellation and said that “the 1,000 fans planning to take part in the event deserve better.”
“They disagree with their president because he insists that they proudly stand for national Anthem, Hand On Heart, in honor of the great men and women in our military and the people of our country,” Trump’s statement read seven years ago.

Seven years later, both parties are ready to celebrate another victory.
As both sides noted, time and logistics must be prepared as the next step to make the visit.
