Islamabad:
The high-driven central selection council approved Monday promotion of 11 Class 21 officers to Class 22, which raised the total number of recently promoted officers to the top class to 47.
The board met here in the cabinet department with Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar in the chairman. The approved promotion of 11 bureaucrats from Information Group, Secretariat Group, Railways (CNT) Group, Economist Group and Postal Group.
Last week, the board of directors at its meeting promoted 36 officers who belonged to Pakistan Administrative Service, Police Service and Foreign Service for Class 22. The latest campaigns raised the number of promoted bureaucrats to 47.
The newly promoted officers included information secretary Ambreen Jan from the Information Group. Her promotion to Class 22 ended a hat-trick of three consecutive female information secretaries. Previously, Zahida Parveen and Shahira Shahid had served as information secretaries.
Other promoted officers were Ayesha Humaira Chaudhry, Zahoor Ahmed, Dr. Nawaz Ahmed, Hammad Shamimi and Muhammad Aslam Ghori from the Secretariat Group; Syed Mazhar, Shahzad Hassan and Syed Muhammad Ammar Naqvi from the Rail Group; Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed from Economist Group and Samiullah Khan from the Post Group.
Meanwhile, the board did not discuss the campaigns from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) officers from the Customs Service and the Inner Revenue due to a residence order issued by a court. The board meets again Tuesday (today) to discuss the promotion of officers to class 21 and class 20.
