Caddy JJ Jakovac responds to hollow-in on TPC Sawgrass

Jonathan “JJ” Jakovac’s visit to TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra, Florida, on Wednesday turned out to be memorable. Jakovac is Caddy for Collin Morikawa, the No. 4-ranked golfer in the world.

Jakovac typically looks like Morikawa Aces shot in front of fans.

But this time, Caddy had a chance to shine when he arrived at the tee box on par-3 “Island Green.”

Jakovac hit a ball and looked at the card on Green’s Downship before rolling back to finish the ace.

Jakovac remembered his thought process at the moment after he hit the ball.

“It had to ride the wind to get there,” he told Golfweek. “Just as it came out, I was like, ‘It’s a perfect line if it lands the right distance.’ It started to turn and I was like, ‘this has a heckuva chance.’ “

Jakovac participated in the annual Caddy competition. In the last quarter century, the event has been held on Wednesday before the playing championship, giving Caddies an opportunity to take a shot on the famous hole.

Florida-Times Union reported that Jakovac became the first Caddy in the history of the competition to make a hole-in-one.

Morikawa also talked about the unique moment.

“Any hole in one is special,” he said. “A hollow-in-one of 17 against any other caddy …”

With his hole-in-one, Jakovac took home a non-revealed pot with money and a $ 10,000 sponsorship price and got access for VIP parking for the rest of the tournament.
