Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered authorities to present former Prime Minister Imran Khan via video link today at 1 p.m. 14.00. If the Video Link setting is not used, the Court has instructed Khan to be presented in person at. 15.00.
Earlier, Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq issued Khan orders to the Superintendent of Adiala prison to meet with Imran Khan and bring him to court. The court had previously summoned the superintendent of Adiala Prison at 1 p.m. 12 in connection with the case involving PTI leader Mashal Yousafzai, who was denied a meeting with Imran Khan. The court asked the prison authorities to confirm whether Mashal Yousafzai served as the PTI base’s lawyer.
The court emphasized that the lack of complying with the previous order agreed during the last hearing would result in strict action.
Justice Khan noted that the court expected the prison authorities to comply with the order and noted that the prison authorities seemed to have committed contempt.
A list was presented to the court, allegedly from Imran Khan, but the court expressed dissatisfaction with it and said it can directly question the PTI founder. The court then postponed the hearing until 1 p.m. 12.
After the break, the hearing resumed and the court issued a final order that Imran Khan was presented via video link at. 14.00. If the video link was not arranged, the court ordered Khan to be presented in person at. 15.00.
The inspector of Islamabad was asked to secure correct events for the presentation of the PTI base in court.
During the consultation, lawyer Shoaib Shaheen informed the court that political leaders had not been able to meet in the last five months.
The court also asked about the reasons for the delay in arranging the meeting between Mashal Yousafzai and Imran Khan. Prison Superintendent Abdul Ghafur Anjum explained that he had been out of town, but the court questioned why the meeting had not been arranged last Friday.
Anjum also stated that Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi had communicated that Mashal Yousafzai was not their lawyer or focal person.
The court has ordered the prison authorities to secure the presentation of Imran Khan according to the orders, either through a video link or personal, and emphasized that any non -compliance will lead to legal consequences.
