The Vikings have an opening for a veteran quarterback after last year’s starter, Sam Darnold, signed with Seattle Seahawks. However, Minnesota also has the former Michigan National Champion JJ McCarthy, the team’s first round election in the 2024 draft.

Rodgers, 41 years old, is not considered a long -term solution for any team.

The famous NFL agent Leigh Steinberg, who has negotiated contracts for several Hall of Fame quarterbacks, told Pakinomist Digital that he imagines Minnesota as a “positive fit” for Rodgers at this time in his career, especially because of McCarthy’s presence as a potential protégé and the team suitable to win in the short.

“So you have to have a situation where, because Aaron may at best play another year, maybe play another two years, but it’s not a permanent solution, so it’s a one or two-year solution,” Steinberg said. “So he could go to a team that is really good, but just needs the last little piece to put them over the top and he could mentoring a younger quarterback.”

Brett Favre asks Aaron Rodgers to sign with a specific team: ‘good place to win’

Steinberg also believes that a team without a chance to win in the short term without young quarterback on his list would not be such a good fit. Giants is a team that fits the mold. Steelers may have had a winning record last season, but is not a shoo-in to be good again this year. They also do not have a young project Quarterback.

“A team that is really unhappy with their quarterbacking taking him would not be so positive for a solution,” Steinberg said.

If Rodgers ends up getting an offer from the Vikings and signing with them, he would follow an almost identical career path to his Green Bay Packer predecessor, Brett Favre. Like Favre, Rodgers played the vast majority of his careers with Packers and won a Super Bowl before being shopped for the New York Jets. Favre then spent his last two years on the Vikings.

Favre offered advice to Rodgers and encouraged him to sign with the Vikings during an interview on Pakinomist Channel’s “The Will Cain Show” on Tuesday.

“The undersign in any case with them,” Favre said. “They got a really good football team. They are loaded in virtually any position. They came to the playoffs last year. They got a huge fanbase, like Packers. If you get the opportunity, it’s a good place to win.

“Of course you have to play the Packers then.”
