Gohar praises security forces for averting greater disaster

Islamabad:

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar has praised the timely actions of security forces to avert a major disaster in the Jaffar Express attack and compare it to the devastating attack on ApS in Peshawar.

In a speech with media out of court, Gohar said the attack could have been as catastrophic as ApS tragedy, but security forces prevented it successfully, Express News reported. He praised the role of the forces in averting a disaster.

Gohar also discussed PTI’s efforts to negotiate with the government. He said PTI had set up a committee on December 4 to initiate conversations, and subsequent meetings took place in December and January. PTI made two demands on the government, which was presented in writing after the government asked for them.

Gohar, however, claimed that the government could not act after the negotiations.

He also criticized the government’s handling of PTI founder Imran Khan’s situation and said that no one from the government has been allowed to meet him for six months.
