Islamabad: In the midst of a recent increase in terrorist attacks in the country, Pakistan has sought an explanation from Afghanistan about contact from terrorists involved in the Jaffar Express attack with their dealers in the latter territory, The news reported Monday.

Although the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not made any statement in this regard, sources have said that Taliban’s Chargé d’Affaires Sardar Ahmad Shekib was called to the Foreign Office to file a strong protest and use of Afghan Earth for the abominable attack.

The development comes after last week’s upsetting attack by the forbidden Balochistan Liberation Army (among others) militants blasting train tracks and held over 440 passengers hostage in a day-long resistance with security services in a remote mountain pass in the Bolan district.

The military, after clearing the train and saving hostages, said it killed 33 attackers. Before the operation began, terrorists had martyred 26 passengers, while four security staff were martyrated during surgery.

The martyred train passengers included 18 security staff from the Army and FC, three officials from Pakistan Railways and other departments and five civilians.

In a speech with the media after the culmination of the operation of the security forces, the Director-General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) revealed Lieutenant Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry that the terrorists were in contact with their handlers in Afghanistan.

“We have credible intelligence confirming that the networks that orchestrate these attacks operate from the entire border in Afghanistan,” the military spokesman said.

He also revealed that among those involved in the attack was a key figure that had previously served in the Afghan army and was now actively involved in terrorist activities against Pakistan.

LT-Sen Chaudhry’s remarks reflect Islamabad’s attitude, which in turn has called on Kabul to prevent its land from being used by terrorist organizations against Pakistan-Ydket, which has been supported by statistics from a recent global terrorism Index 2025 report.

The report not only highlighted the coincidental increase in terrorist incidents in Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban’s return to power in Kabul, but also pointed out that Tehreek-E-Taliban Pakistan’s (TTP) capitalization of increased operational freedom and access to safe gardens in the neighboring country.

Meanwhile, during the interaction with Kabul’s envoy Sardar Shekib, the diplomat was reminded that the Taliban had provided an international insurance that they would not allow the use of Afghan land against Pakistan and that the insurance was given in the Doha agreement – signed between the Afghan Taliban and the United States.

The Afghan CDA was told that the clothing that had been declared as a terrorist organization of the world organ had used the Afghan earth for their abhorrent acts.

It is relevant to mention Islamabad do not recognize the government in Kabul, but has allowed the presence of Taliban’s diplomatic representative in Pakistan as they control Kabul.

A strongly formulated decision from the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on the matter is a source of diplomatic satisfaction for Pakistan, such as the mentioned, among other things, and Majeed Brigade named for terrorist acts.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is among world leaders condemning the incident.

As Pakistan expresses satisfaction over the international reaction and broad condemnation of the train hijacking, sources say the government surpassed to thank world leaders and countries that expressed solidarity with the country and a list could be issued in a few days.
