Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the potential of Pakistan’s IT working force during a meeting Monday with a four-member delegation led by Jerome Chapelus, CEO of the US-based multinational IT company, Afiniti.

The meeting held at the Prime Minister’s office focused on Pakistan’s growing IT sector and the government’s efforts to support it read a statement from the Prime Minister’s office.

PM emphasized that Pakistan’s IT professionals had the capacity to compete globally and that the government provided significant facilities to help IT companies reach their $ 25 billion export targets.

He greeted Afiniti’s interest in further investment in the country’s IT sector and suggested that Afiniti Pakistan established a world-class call center to serve both national and international clients.

PM also shared that he personally monitored programs aimed at equipping the country’s youth with skills in it, AI and other advanced technologies. Prime Minister for that, Shaza Fatima Khawaja and senior officials from relevant institutions attended the meeting.

Chapelus praised the expertise of Pakistani IT professionals and noticed their commitment to the sector’s development. He noted that Pakistan’s IT sector was very conducive to investment and business.

He also revealed that over 1,000 talented Pakistani professionals are currently working in Afiniti Pakistan, emphasizing the country’s potential to create growth in the global IT landscape.
