Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is ready to take on an official visit to Saudi -Arabia from March 19 to 22, with the aim of strengthening bilateral ties, increasing financial cooperation and exploring investment opportunities.
Accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar as well as the most important federal ministers and senior officials, the Prime Minister will meet Saudi crown prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman to discuss improving trade, elaborating partnerships in key sectors and facilitating greater financial cooperation.
According to the Foreign Office, discussions will cover global and regional issues, including the GAZA situation, develop the dynamics of the Middle East and concerns for the Muslim Ummah.
The visit is expected to strengthen the historical ties between the two nations and increase diplomatic coordination of bilateral, regional and global issues.
PM Shehbaz last visited the kingdom last December, where he approached ‘One Water Summit’ and suggested a six-point global agenda to tackle hiking-related challenges.
At its address, Sharif also highlighted the serious difficulties with climate change in developing countries and emphasized the need for collaborative solutions to ensure sustainable water management worldwide.
On the sidelines at the summit, the prime minister met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The two leaders discussed ways of bringing a qualitative shift into their bilateral relationship and expressed satisfaction with the progress of the mous and agreements signed between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
In addition to his meeting with Saudi leadership, Prime Minister Sharif held conversations with French President Emmanuel Macron.
The two managers agreed to improve business-to-business cooperation in key sectors, including agriculture, livestock, information technology, vocational education and access to clean drinking water.
