- Nothing ‘headphones/earphones’ that are spotted in the Japan Audio Society Certification
- The model (No. B170) is listed with a date of ‘2025/03’
- Jas Codeveloped Hi-Res Audio Standard but Nothing Is Not Backs Not
Another day, another hint that nothing is the next cheaper CMF spinoff ear plugs, could be launched at any minute-but We can now expect a launch this month and without any hi-res sound information.
In the event that you missed it, there was nothing still released CMF knobs 2 Plus, in a FCC archiving in February along with the image you see above. We also got some key specifications, including Bluetooth Le support for connectivity, a 460mAh battery, and the return of Rotary Dial in the corner of the case for volume and track handling-da we talked about in the length of our CMF Bud Bud Pro 2 Review.
At that time, we assumed that the new cheap no buds would land next to the then non-confirmed no phone 3A and no phone 3A pro as a set of earplugs to be bundled with the new phone. On March 4, the phones arrived, but CMF Bud 2 Plus never showed.
So what does this new listing at the Japan Audio Society -the website tell us? Mainly a date of “2025/03”. Although the list does not explicitly confirm that the date relates to the launch (and not just the release of the certification) Other No Products listed below delivers a date corresponding to the actual launch of the product; Model numbers relating to Nothing Ear (A) and no ear is listed with a “2024/04” date – which is when they both launched.
It makes sense: CMF of Nothing Buds (which Buds 2 Plus will replace), launched in March 2024 a year ago, and I don’t have to tell you about the fast moving pace in phone literations and their portable audio accessories.
CMF knobs 2 Plus: It’s a no to hi-res sound-and for money we expected
Although we cannot tell how good Buds 2 Plus will sound from the new JAS archiving (or exactly when they will be launched this month), we can tell a little more about Bluetooth sound information. That’s because the Japan Audio Society helped establish Hi-Res Audio Standard with Sony in 2014, where you develop the logo you will look at Hi-Res Audio-Certified Products.
At the top of his lists, Jas writes: “The ‘(+Hraw)’ In the category column means the product is in line with ‘Hi-Resolution Audio’ Standard and ‘Hi-Resolution Audio Wireless’ Standard’.
Three no products in society’s latest lists have got a +hraw suffix, including Nothing Ear (A), Nothing Ear and April 2023 Issue No Ear 2-Men Not the New B170. So we can certainly assume that you do not get LDAC or Hi-Res Audio Support playback up to 1 Mbps (or frequencies up to 24bit/192 kHz) with these cheap incoming CMF with no buds.
Frankly, it is a bit churlish to expect hi-resupport in view of the aggressive price tags Nothing’s CMF subsidiary has come with so far. CMF Bud Pro 2’s request fee was only $ 59 / £ 59 / AU $ 99 at launch in July 2024.
How much can we expect the non-pro CMF knobs 2 plus to cost? We can’t say for sure but I wouldn’t be too surprised to see a price of $ 50 / £ 50.
