- It’s aimed at audiophiles and players
- You can pre -order it now for $ 299.95 / £ 249.99
Sennheiser has announced a brand new headphone model specifically aimed at games and audiophiles.
Sennheiser HD 550 Open-Back headphones are beaten to bring “a compelling new choice to audiophiles and players seeking capacity at the next level”. Sennheiser also speaks a big game to the HD 550 and says the headphones will boast “scattered stereo depiction and an ultra-light build, HD 550 is an open invitation to pack the lush layers in today’s music and games for hours.”
As for what’s under the cap, the HD 550 headphones will contain a custom 38 mm transducer that will offer “unique clarity” from 6Hz to 39.5 kHz.
And for games specifically, Sennheiser says players will get “excellent, delay -free spatial attention and immersion” from HD 550. Punchy bass, crystal clear transients, and neutral middle without being lost from the truthful expressions that Audiophiles prefer will also be in the core of the sound that HD 550 can give you in play.
Sennheiser Audiophile Product Manager Klas Hanselmann, who describes the HD 550s, says in the official press release: “Audiofile looking for feather light headphones with honest expression and deep bass extension is for a treat.”
Elsewhere, practically, the HD 550 will share the 500 series that is characteristic of having a modular design so that users can easily swap cables and ear pads. It is a wired set of headphones and comes with a 6ft/1.8 m cable with a 3.5mm jack connection, but also offers extra compatibility by coming with a 6.35 mm adapter.
It also weighs only 8.36 OZ / 237G, so comes in lighter than a double -sense wireless controller, for example and is lighter than my personal premium game headset pick, SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless.
The HD 550 comes warmly on the heels of the new Sennheiser HD 505 headphones, which we really rated in our full review.
It may be obvious, but it is worth noting that this is Sennheiser -Headphones through and through -not a dip back in full -fledged game heads from the premium sound mark. For example, there is no microphone here and they are aimed at people who are after, simply top -tier sound for their games – as well as the flexibility to choose their own microphone.
Nevertheless, I am excited about the HD 550 set of headphones. I was a big fan of some of the last game headset models brand made in the GSP 670s, 370s and 300s.
While the HD 550s are a very distant relationship with such headsets, I look forward to trying something from the brand that is definitely aimed at games. Plus, with HD 550, it can be an Audiophiles Dream PS5 Headset, Xbox Series X -Headset or Nintendo Switch Headset.
Sennheiser HD 550 headphones are available for pre-ordering at the Sennheiser hearing right now for $ 299.95 or £ 249.99.
