The federal minister of railways Hanif Abbasi on Tuesday ordered the railway authorities to adopt modern security technologies and improve emergency preparedness to ensure passenger security at all times.

He was chairman of a high -level meeting at the Ministry of Railways, participated in the most important stakeholders, to review Pakistan Railways’ operations and discuss future strategies.

During the meeting, the Minister emphasized that passengers’ safety and security must remain the highest priority in rail operations.

He took a detailed orientation on train plans, passenger services, technical operations and security protocols.

Abbasi emphasized the need to maintain punctuality in train arrivals and departure and called for collective efforts to ensure effective and timely service.

He also instructed railroad men to strengthen the safety of railway stations and aboard trains to prevent inappropriate incident.

Upgrading of infrastructure, including tracks, stations and rolling stock, was also highlighted as an important focus area.

Abbasi said that the introduction of modern, comfortable trains would encourage more people to use Pakistan Railways as their favorite form of travel.

He emphasized the importance of customer service and urged staff to be professional, polite and helpful when dealing with passengers.

He called for better communication with travelers and ensured that they were informed in advance of train hours, delays and service breaks.

He also highlighted Pakistan Railways’ financial potential and encouraged officials to explore new revenue flows through partnerships with private sector, improved shipping services and the development of tourism.

The minister noted that Pakistan Railways could play an important role in economic growth and social development due to its extensive network and rich history.

He called for a renewed commitment from all stakeholders to transform Pakistan Railways into a modern, efficient and reliable transport system that meets people’s needs.
