KP releases RS5.5B for police renewal

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has instructed the financial department to immediate release of RS5.5 billion to meet different needs for the police in an attempt to strengthen and strengthen the police force in the province.

KP CM was chairman of an important meeting regarding police affairs of Chief Minister’s Secretariat. Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, Inspector General for Police Zulfiqar Hameed, additional Chief Secretary Muhammad Abid Majed and senior officials from the police and finance department attended the meeting.

According to the details, the meeting immediately decided to release RS3 billion to bulletproof politician and purchase of other modern equipment.

In addition, it was also decided to deliver RS1.3 billion to establish special weapons and tactics (SWAT) teams equipped with modern technology at district level and to secure police stations and check positions.

In addition, the RS500 million would be released to the remaining projects under the annual development program related to the construction of police stations and RS720 million for the purchase of night -vision glasses, sniper rifles and other equipment for the police force.

KP CM has in principle decided to bring wages for police officers and staff in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on par with the salaries of their colleagues in other provinces.

During the briefing, it was informed that wages for police officers in Balochistan are the highest among all provinces, while wages for police staff in Punjab are higher than in any other province.

Ali Amin Gandpaur emphasized that maintaining law and order was the greatest priority for the current provincial government. Given the current security situation in the province, it is important to strengthen the police force in every way possible, he added.

CM emphasized that the provincial government had used significant resources to improve police capacity from day one, and added funds will continue to be prioritized on a priority basis for meeting police needs.

The Minister of the Minister pointed out that the equipment of the police force to tackle the current security challenges was of the utmost importance and there would be no compromise on the case. He acknowledged courage and victims of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police force and expressed pride in their performance. He also made it clear that the provincial government would not allow financial restrictions to prevent the fulfillment of police needs.
