- BYDS SUPER E-platform debuts on the upcoming male l sedan and tang l SUV
- 1,000 kW point charging speeds will see batteries brimmet in minutes
- BYD builds 4,000 ultra -fast chargers in China to support the roll -out
Chinese car manufacturer BYD continues to push the battery and EV charging technology to the borders with a recent announcement that it is rolling out 1,000 kW of charging capacity into two upcoming hero electrical models that will be later this year.
The super e-platform, which BYD calls it, offers a charge voltage of up to 1000V and a maximum power of 1000A, in which the 800V architecture is currently considered as the cream of the crop.
When the BYD is paired to an honestly scary 1 megawatt (1MW) charging station, BYD says the “flash charging” battery allows an impressive 249 miles of range to be added to just five minutes of charging.
According to the company, tests have shown that the battery packs can still pull 600 kW even at 90% of charge mode – typically when most EV chargers brakes for security and battery health reasons.
Car news China says that 83.2 kWh lithium -ion ion -phosphate battery pack paired to the updated he is capable of over 430 miles range on a single charge, with a new electric motor that works up to 30,511 RPM -making it the highest swivel machine in production.
In the four-wheel drive male l and seaweed L models, two of these engines will be used with a combined output of 1084BHP. BYD claims that this will be enough to operate his tongue he s Sedan from standstill to 62 km / h in 2.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 190 km / h.
Pre -sales for both he and Tang L have already started in China, where the company offers its latest charge and electric motor technology for about $ 37,000 to $ 40,000, depending on the model.
Tesla’s sales slowly as innovation stalls
Tesla recently announced its V4 SuperCharger Network rolling across the United States, which is able to deliver speeds of up to 325 kW. Something that will currently only benefit cybertruck owners as it is the only model with the required 800V electric architecture to make it work.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has repeatedly stated that the latest generation of SuperCharger is able to deliver up to 500 kW charging speeds, but we should not yet see this in action and that is only half the speed offering.
At the top of this, the Chinese car manufacturer has committed to construct more than 4,000 ultra -fast charging stations throughout China, so that customers from Han L and Tang L could experience the high charging speeds it claims.
However, there has been no information on how these ridiculously powerful EV charging stations will look like they need fluid-cooled charging cables to supply 1MW power or the kind of significant submission setup required to safely supply flow electricity. There has also been no statement of time frames.
“This is the first time in the industry that the Megawatt unit has been achieved by charging power,” said BYD -founder Wang Chuanfu during a recent launch event that took place to explain that during the test the 1MW charging station reached within 10 seconds, taking the vehicles from 7% to 50% in 4.5 minutes, according to electric cars.
Earlier this month, reports emerged that Teslas grabbed the Chinese EV market slipped, with deliveries from his Shanghai factory, which threw themselves to their lowest in more than 2.5 years last month.
Telltale signs of weakened demand for new model Y also appear, where the company already offers 0% APR loans on its latest model, despite having only gone on sale earlier this year.
Typically, Chinese customers enjoy something new and exciting, but Tesla’s decrease in innovation and refusal to update its aging model set -up clearly has influence, leaving domestic car manufacturers, such as BYD and Xiaomi, to steal the limelight.
