Boston Red Sox star Rafael Dejers fluttered some feathers as he seemed resistant to giving up the third base to Alex Bregman, whose defensive measurements make him the better man the position when spring training began.
The initial reaction was immediate debate among fans and experts, with the main topic of Dervers’ relationship with Bregman, as Boston signed a three-year-old, $ 120 million contract in free agency.
But it has been clear from the start that manager Alex Cora would do what is best for Red Sox, and his latest comments about Devers basically confirm how the season will start with regard to who plays where.

Cora told journalists on Wednesday that Devers would “probably not” get a game on the third base before the spring training ends.
On the other hand, Dervers is probably entering the opening day as the full -time -spoken hitter for Boston.

Devers initially said he had a conversation with Team Brass and expressed his desire not to be in this role.
“Third base is my position,” Devers said through his interpreter last month. “That’s what I’ve been playing. I don’t know what their plans are. I know we had a conversation. I made it clear what my wishes were and yes, no matter what happens from here, I don’t know.”
Although there is no one to deny Devers is sure of all his baseball skills, something Red Sox certainly loves in their cornerstone, he had a more team-focused answer after his first comments became viral.

“I’m good at doing what they want me to do,” Devers told journalists later in spring training. “I’m here to help. I’ve already talked to them about it and they know where I’m standing. I’m just ready to play.”
DEVERS is a three-time all-star third Baseman, but his measurements-minus-six outs above average compared to Bregman’s six Outs-Var never the best. He said he was practicing hard on the position, but when Bregman signed, it seemed that the designated hitter was where Devers would move.
However, the first Baseman Triston Casa added fuel to Dervers ‘comments and said he believes the third base is Devers’ place to claim, and Bregman had to play another base that was open to a replacement.

But Red Sox has clearly shown that their mindset on the way into the 2025 campaign, one, they are expected to make the autumn period in after not doing so in 2024, with Bregman, who played the third base through the spring.
Bregman has not yet seen any reps on the second base.
