Netflix’s “Quarterback” will return to the streaming platform this year, the company announced on Wednesday.
The NFL documentary debuted in 2023 and gave one behind the scenes a look at three quarterbacks. Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes exceeded that season, while Kirk Cousins’ damaged season with Minnesota Vikings also became chronic. The debut season also followed Journeyman -Quarterback Marcus Mariota’s uneven ran with Atlanta Falcons.
Cousins return to the second season. The newcomers, Cincinnati Bengals star Joe Burrow and Detroit Lions Signal-Caller Jared Goff, also let cameras follow them on and off the field during the 2024-25 NFL season.

Netflix released a teaser for the upcoming season Wednesday. “Coming to Netflix in July,” the streaming service wrote at X.
Another NFL-focused documentary, “Recipient”, was released one year after “Quarterback.”
It followed the seasons 2023–24 by several broad recipients and a high-profile NFL-tightening end. The documents looked inside Davante Adams’ season with Las Vegas Raiders. The series also followed the Minnesota Vikings All-Pro Justin Jefferson and Lions Receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.

San Francisco 49ers Standout Deebo Samuel’s season was also documented, while George Kittle represented the tight end group on the show. Peyton Mannings Omaha Productions, Mahomes ’14: 00 Productions and NFL films handled the series’ production.
Cousins had a turbulent first season with Falcons. He threw a career high 16 interception before being benched in favor of rookie quarterback Michael Penix. Cousins came out of a season where he tore his right Achilles -during a loss to the Green Bay Packers in October 2023.
Burrow undoubtedly had the best season of his NFL career in 2024 and was named AP Comeback Player of the Year.

He ended the season with a career high 4,918 passing yards and 43 touchdowns. The Bengals ended with a record of 9-8 and could not qualify for the final game.
Goff also had a strong plain season, ending with 4,629 meters passing, nine meters shy for his career best.

The lions went into the autumn period as NFC’s top seeds, but were removed from strife when they were disturbed by the Washington commanders in the divisional round.
The first season of docuseries contained eight episodes. Netflix did not reveal the episode count for season 2.
