- New iPhone 17 Dummy -Units have been shown online
- They show glass and metal contours for Pro and Pro Max
- A significant redesign is expected for the top two models
The season with iPhone 17 Leakies and Rumors is good and really started, and just days after Dummy devices in Apple’s flagship of 2025 leaked online, we’ve got another batch to pore over – showing the iPhone 17 Glass and Metal Redesign in a little more detail.
These new dummy device images come with the permission of the well-known tipster @sonydickson, and it looks like we have all four models: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max (or iPhone 17 Ultra, maybe).
Dummy devices like those shown here are based on schedules taken from the supply chain and give accessories a chance to get their products ready for the launch day. They also allow the rest of us to check phone design in advance.
When it comes to redesigned by the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max – with chunky rear cameras – it’s a look that has already been leaked to a large extent. We can also see the smaller camera line that is expected to appear on the back of the iPhone 17 air.

What these Dummy devices add that past leaks have not really shown us is the way glass and metal will be combined on these iPhone designs. You can see a weak contour on the Pro and Pro Max models just below the camera.
The outlined section will apparently be glass, enabling wireless Magsafe charging. The second section is joined to be made of aluminum. That’s quite a change from the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Meanwhile, it seems that the design of the iPhone 17 will be on very similar lines like iPhone 16, while the iPhone 17 air is a brand new phone that replaces the iPhone 16 Plus-Riks to be super-slim-so we don’t have any predecessor to compare it to.
We have also heard rumors of memory and camera upgrades for these phones, improvements in video recording and perhaps a useful reverse wireless charging feature. The phones will be debuting sometime in September and we will have to wait until then to see what is actually going to do when Apple fully reveals them.
