The US Ministry of Education for Civil Rights announced on Thursday that it is launching a study of the Illinois Department of Education, Chicago Public School District 299 and Deerfield Public School’s District 109 over reported violations of title IX.
The reported violations come from an alleged incident involving middle school girls who are forced to change in the same dressing room as a trans -gender student.
“Congress adopted title IX to end sex -based discrimination against women in educational programs, and its implementation regulations have long reflected the common sense practice for schools that provide separate intimate facilities for men and women,” acting assisting secretary of civil rights Craig Trainor said in the announcement.
“The architects in title IX understood that men and women, especially minors, have the right to be free of forced exposure of their bodies or from participating in intimate activities – such as changing their clothes in a dressing room – in front of the opposite sex,” Trainor continued.

“This retains privacy and security of all involved, especially young girls. The department is deeply uneasy of these accusations and will fully investigate this case.”
Illinoi’s mother Nicole Georgas brought the situation into light when she filed a civil rights complaint to Ministry of Justice After claiming that school administrators tried to force her 13-year-old daughter to change in front of a trans-gender student in the girls’ dressing room last month.
She revealed the complaint during a board meeting for Deerfield Public School District 109 Last week he claimed the incident took place last month after her daughter refused to switch to her uniform during physical training because a biologically male student was present at the time.
Maine responds to Trump Admin’s statement State violated title IX by allowing transgenders in girls sports
“The girls want their dressing room and bathrooms left. They want their privacy back. That’s why I’m here tonight. My 13-year-old daughter’s well-being, mental health and privacy are at stake, “Georgas said during his speech at the board meeting on Thursday.
According to Georgas, her daughter was “scared” and “extremely upset” on February 5 when she used the girls’ bathroom and noticed that a transgender student was using the facilities at the same time.
“She was told by the administration that a student can use the bathroom as well as a female dressing room because they now identify themselves as women,” Georgas said of the explanatory administrators allegedly delivered to her daughter.
Georgas then raised the question to the school’s administration and noticed them she thought it was a direct violation of President Donald Trump’s To keep men out of women’s sports Executive Order. She said in her speech that the administration informed her that the student under the direction of their legal advice was free to use both the girls ‘bathroom and girls’ changing rooms.
In a statement to Pakinomist Digital, Deerfield Public Schools District 109 said no students are required to change in front of others in the dressing room and added that the school’s policies are in line with state law.
“District 109 is obliged to provide a learning environment in which all students and staff are respected and supported. Our policies and procedures, including students’ use of changing rooms, are adapted to the state’s laws, Illinois school code and Illinois State Board of Education (ISB desires.”
