- FIIO FX17 In-Ear screens are extremely advanced in-ear screens
- 8 electrostatic drivers, 4 custom Knowles BA drivers per Ear
- 3 connection options, including USB-C with an elite DAC
I think Fiio’s engineers may have been to Red Bull: How, except if you are absurd over-coffee-free, you decide to put 26 speaker drivers in a single IEMs?
They do not look like they have 13 drivers per day.
This means that the mixing of electrostatic, balanced anchor and dynamic drivers to deliver what FIIO says is a “generation step forward in IEM design”.
Run, baby, run
FX17, eight electrostatic drivers, four custom knowledge balanced anchor drivers with extra openings and a dynamic driver in each bud, made with a lithium-magnesium alloy. It is extremely light and extremely stiff and delivers very precise sound with significantly reduced vibration and resonance.
These drivers are packed in beautiful titanium shells painted from a single block and polished by hand, and are connected via a three-metal cable gold, silver and copper-there comes with three interchangeable terminators: 3.5 mm, 4.4 mm balanced and USB-C.
The latter connection includes a built-in DSP audio coding chip that supports up to 32-bit/384kHz PCM in high resolution. And it also allows you to customize the frequency curve for your FX17s via its eight-band high precision PEQ, which you can control via the Companion app or web interface.
FIIO FX17 will be priced at £ 1,399 / $ 1,499 / around AU $ 2,873, which is an important high-end price that matches the specifications-we usually evaluate FIIO for the amazing value offered by its products, such as the FIIO M11S or FIIO FT5. These can still be good value, just at a completely different end of the market … We look forward to comparing them with the best wired earplugs after they are available from April 14.
