At least six passengers were killed in a brutal attack on a Karachi-bound bus in Gwadar’s Kalmat area on Wednesday night.
The incident took place in the Kalmat area, where five people died immediately, and a succumbed to injuries later while receiving treatment in the hospital. Authorities confirmed that the victims who all traveled to Karachi included a man from Multan.
This attack adds a growing number of violent incidents in Balochistan. Just a few days before, armed attacked four workers from Punjab in Mangochar, Balochistan.
The workers involved in the Tubewell installation in Langzai were targeted and killed by guns. Local officials confirmed that the victims were from Sadiqabad, Punjab.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the killing of five passengers in a shooting event in Gwadar’s Kalmat area on Thursday.
In separate statements, both leaders expressed their condolences and prayed for the peace of the deceased, the rapid improvement of the wounded and the strength of the grieving families.
President Zardari emphasized that terrorists are enemies in both the country’s development and the prosperity of Balochistan and noted that they are against progress in the region.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ordered authorities to provide the best medical treatment to the wounded and thoroughly examine the incident and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to court.
He condemned attackers as enemies of peace and development and condemned their brutal acts.
By confirming the government’s commitment, the Prime Minister promised to avert any anti-state agendas. He also famous security forces and law enforcement authorities for their efforts to protect the country and expressed national pride in their actions.
