Although I am in the UK and not following baseball, I was still able to easily identify today’s words – such is the branding power of the Major League Baseball or in this case the National League.
Seeing the teams in unique shape was a bit strange, just like a tension that was so long (a whole 14 letters) that it started and ended up on the same side of the puzzle.
One of the weirdest things about American sports teams from my perspective is how they can move between cities – Atlanta Braves, who have previously existed during their history in Boston and Milwaukee.
In England, Arsenal Football Club receives infinite grief from their northern London rivals Tottenham Hotspur because they were formed in southern London and first crossed the river in 1913.

What is new threads?
Strands is Nyt’s non-new-new-more word games after Wordle and connections. It is now a fully expanded member of Nyt’s Games Stable, which has been running for a year and can be played on the new Games website on desktop or mobile.
