- Samsung has confirmed a sleep tracking problem with several of its smartwatches
- It says the feature is not working properly on Galaxy Watch 4, 5, 6, 7 or Ultra
- It says users need to activate and then disable power-saving mode and update the Samsung Health app
Samsung has confirmed that several of its latest Galaxy Watch models are affected by a sleep tracking problem, but fortunately a few corrections are also recommended.
At a Samsung Community Forum in Korea (spotted by Sammobile), the company revealed that two of its best smartwatches, Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra may not measure sleep correctly.
The problem that also affects the Galaxy Watch 4, 5 and 6 means that “sleep-related measurement values are not properly reflected in the Samsung Health app on the Galaxy Watch.” (Translated)
Samsung has offered a few corrections to users who may experience problems. As noted, this statement was published only on a Korean forum, so it is not clear at this time whether this is a region-specific question-we have reached Samsung for more information.
Either way, if you have problems with sleep tracking on your Galaxy Watch, here are some things you can do.
How to fix sleep tracking on Galaxy Watch
True to technical troubleshooting, Samsung says the first thing users need to do is turn off their device and turn on again.
In the meantime, it says it works on an updated version of the Samsung Health app that will solve the problem.
More specifically, Samsung also recommends that users activate and then disable the Galaxy Watch’s power -saving mode in the setting app on the clock.
Finally, users also need to download the latest Samsung Health App update from the Galaxy Store. Whether this is the updated app that the company promised, or a temporary solution in the meantime, is unclear. But if you experience sleep tracking problems with your Galaxy Watch, all these fixes are good places to start.
As mentioned, we have reached Samsung about the problem and we update this story with all new information it gives us.
