A new Nintendo Switch 2 rumor suggests that the console may not contain 4K output at the launch if reports of Dev -set’s capabilities are something to pass by.
This comes from the latest episode of Insider Gaming Weekly Podcast, where Tom Henderson shared some insight into the upcoming Switch Console and said a source at Game Developers Conference (GDC) told him some dev kits do not offer 4K output.
“I heard this from a developer at GDC and heard it separately in an e -mail … but the Dev sets or some of the Dev sets do not have a 4K output,” Henderson said.
“So it tells me, does that mean Nintendo Switch 2 doesn’t want a 4K output when it is released?”
It is important to note that although Dev Kits may not have this feature, it does not necessarily mean the final version of Switch 2, as the system will not offer the same specifications as an unfinished product.

Henderson also emphasized that this has not been confirmed and that fans should take this rumor with a pinch of salt, given previous reports claimed that the console will support 4K when in the docked state and 1080p resolution under handheld.
