The NBA determined the penalty for the players involved in a mix during Sunday’s match between Minnesota Timberwolves and Detroit Pistons.
Detroit Center Isaiah Stewart received a two-game pension for its role in the fight, while four other players from Piston’s and Timberwolves pulled one-game suspensions, the league announced on Tuesday.
Stewart’s suspension of multiple games, partly stemming from “his repeated story with unsports -like actions”, according to NBA.

Pistons’ Frem Ron Holland II received a one-game ban, while his teammate Marcus Sasser is also forced to sit out on a game. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves Center Naz Reid and Guard Divine Divincenzo both drew one-game suspensions.
All of these players beyond Stewart were thrown out of Sunday’s game. Officials also threw Piston’s main coach JB Bickerstaff and T’Wolves Assistant Pablo Prigioni from the competition.

“Obviously, things were going too far,” Bickerstaff said after that game. “But what you see are guys looking at each other, guys trying to protect each other, guys trying to have each other’s backs. … These are non-negotiations in our dressing room.”

The incident began when the Netherlands embarked on Reid with 8:36 pm back in the second quarter of Timberwolves’ matchup with the stamps in Minneapolis. Reid confronted the Netherlands, who then pushed Divincenzo, who then pushed the Netherlands – and they wound up the fall of spectators sitting along the baseline.

Stewart and Sasser then entered the quarrel, “resulting in continued escalation of the situation,” the league said.

Reid and Divincenzo serve their suspension of a game on Tuesday when Timberwolves visit Denver Nuggets. Stewart will start earning his suspension Wednesday when the stamps take Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Netherlands and Sasser will also serve their suspension in this game.
Minnesota went into Tuesday’s action in seventh place at the Western Conference Location, while Idle Piston’s remaining in the fifth place at the eastern conference.
