Karachi:
Pakistani Pilgrims, departing from Karachi and Islamabad for Hajj this year, will again take advantage of the “Road to Makkah” initiative, which streamline immigration procedures before departure.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued a letter to Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Director -General, who instructs officials to secure all necessary events for Hajj operations in Jinnah International Airport in Karachi and Islamabad International Airport.
According to a letter from the Royal Saudi Embassy to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, immigration services will again be delivered in Karachi and Islamabad airports under the road to the Makkah initiative. Pilgrims traveling from these cities will end their immigration procedures in Pakistan rather than on arrival in Saudi Arabia.
CAA has been instructed to ensure appropriate events for the initiative, including the allocation of the designated space for Saudi immigration personnel and the delivery of all necessary facilities. As a result, pilgrims traveling from Islamabad and Karachi need not undergo immigration by landing in Jeddah or Madinah airports as their treatment will already be completed in Pakistan.
The road to the Makkah project aims to facilitate a smoother and more practical journey for Pakistani pilgrims, reduce waiting times and ensure effective immigration procedures before departure.
