New -Connections Today (Play #664) – The answers
The answers to today’s connections, game #664, are …
- Yellow: Employment Contract, engage, retain, sign
- Green: Parts of a site Banner, headline, menu, sidebar
- Blue: Magazines Billboard, people, star, time
- Purple: Ends with medieval weapons Crossword, Grimase, Rainbow, Sans
- My rating: Moderate

I am guilty of reading categories, I do not solve really quickly and mentally tell myself “yes, no matter what”.
So today I did not initially see the words “ended with” and were all ready to say how amazing it was that there was an old weapon called the crossword – I imagined it only killed someone when you had finished 13 across strokes and 13 downward strokes.
Either way, the fact is that I completely missed the words sword, mace, bow and lance hidden in clear sight, despite almost daily thinking, there are some connections that are the category of medieval warning.
My first mistake today came with impulsively guessing that I collected the characters of some imaginary Pee-Wee Herman-style kids TV show-so I had star, rainbow, grimase and time.
Admittedly, it would be a pretty terrible TV show -the sale of Grimmace dolls would be very bad. Then, ignoring the fact that there was a similar category on Thursday, I thought Billboard, Menu, Header and Banner were printed items before “One Away” made me see parts of a site.
How did you do today? Tell me that in the comments below.

What are new connections?
New Connections is one of several increasingly popular word games made by the New York Times. It challenges you to find groups of four objects that share something in common, and each group has another level of difficulty: green is light, yellow a little harder, blue often quite hard and purple usually very difficult.
On the plus side, you do not have to technically solve the last one, as you can answer one by an elimination process. In addition, you can make up to four errors, giving you a little bit of breathing room.
However, it is a little more involved than something like Wordle, and there are plenty of opportunities for the game to get up with tricks. For example, be careful on gay and other word games that can hide the answers.
It can be played free of charge via the new Games website on desktop or mobile.
