Allama Iqbal Express deroges near Kotri between Hyderabad and Karachi

A bogie by Allama Iqbal Express derailed near Kotri Railway Station on Saturday, which temporarily disturbed rail services between Hyderabad and Karachi, officials said.

The incident took place when the train, on its way from Lahore to Karachi, experienced a technical error near Kotri, causing its last wagon to loosen and get off the track, Express News reported.

No injuries were reported.

The affected bogie was also separated from the rest of the train.

The railway authorities launched immediate restoration efforts, began working to reintroduce the bogie and repair the clutch mechanism.

“The trembling has been affected by the incident,” a railway spokesman said.

“Train traveling from Hyderabad to Kotri has been stopped in Hyderabad as a precautionary measure.”

Repair work is expected to take two to three hours. Train services on the route resume when security inspections are completed.

Yetserday, Pakistan Railways advertised the introduced high-speed and comfortable diesel multi-malls.

In a briefing to the federal minister of railway Hanif Abbasi, the railroad officials told the trains were designed to run at the speed of 160 kilometers per hour.

The trains will lay between Lahore, Lala Musa and Rawal Pindi.

As many as 380 passengers can travel at a time in diesel plus more trains. The project is based on the public-private partnership. The railways will ensure efficient operation and monitoring.
