Fever’s Sophie Cunningham Optimistic with regard to potential title with Caitlin Clark

Indiana Fever Performed playoffs last year for the first time since 2016 largely due to superstar Rookie Caitlin Clark. This season, a new head coach and the addition of more key players has increased the odds of success in Indiana.

Sophie Cunningham, one of these additions, believes the fever is first -class for a run on WNBA Championship.

The 28-year-old guard was acquired by the fever from Phoenix Suns in February as part of a four-team trade that included additions by Jaelyn Brown from Dallas Wings and No. 19 elections in the 2025 WNBA draft.

“I’m excited. I think this is a new era for myself,” Cunningham told Pakinomist Digital in a recent conversation. “I had to learn a lot, learn to become a professional. And now I come to Indiana to play with some of the best players all over the world right now.”

On the list is the new teammate Caitlin Clark, who took his pro -career by storm.

“We’ve been talking quite a bit in the last few months since I’ve been shopped and she’s just a good person,” Cunningham said of Clark. “I think she has humor for her, she has knowledge for her. Everyone with whom I have spoken said she is a great teammate. She just wants to win, right?”

Cunningham told Pakinomist Digital that she thinks Indiana’s “Style of Games” is something she thrives in. She said she thinks that if chemistry on the field is there, this team is a good chance of winning a championship.

“I’m just excited about [Clark’s] Competitiveness. I’m excited about everything she brings to the table. But again, I’m excited about everyone, right? You have Kelsey Mitchell, who has also been a veterinarian who has also been there for years, who is also a hell of a player. And then for me just to be part of something for the first time – a new team for the first time in six years – I just think it’s a fresh wind. That’s what I needed. It’s gene motivated, it focuses on my energy again. And again, as at the end of the day, I just want to win. I want championships and I think this is the right team to it. ”

Cunningham, 28, was prepared by Phoenix In the second round of the WNBA draft in 2019 and has become one of the league’s most popular players. She appeared in 182 matches, an average of 7.7 points per year. Match, 2.7 gathered rebounds and 1.4 assists.

Cunningham takes March Madness

“It’s huge. And I think you know, the talent and the feistiness that competitiveness has always been there. Now it’s just on TV where people are able to witness it and fall in love with our game and fall in love with the players,” she said. “I was part of the NCAA tournament for four years. Now I become a fan behind a bar that supports it with Quest.”

“I’m really excited. I just think their products are getting bigger, they get better – still high protein, low sugar – and then as an athlete at elite level, that’s exactly what you want,” she said of her partnership. “You still want to eat healthy, but you too for me, I have a sweet tooth, and then why should I not want to pamper me a little on a tasty treat because it is something that would always stick with me, so I would much rather eat something that is good for me than you know something bad.”
