- A UI 8 (based on Android 16) could launch early
- It may debut on Samsung’s next foldable
- A UI 7 rolls out more far -reaching this week
One UI 7 (Android 15) update made its right debut on the Samsung Galaxy S25 phones in January, and is set to roll out to other devices from next week -but it seems that a UI 8 (Android 16) will soon be ready to go too as it will be tip to show up on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7.
These two folds are expected to arrive around July, and sources talking to Sammobilee say they come with a UI 8 on board instead of a UI 7. It’s a surprisingly quick turn to Samsung’s next software upgrade.
However, it fits the expected release plan for Android 16, we know that Google is eager to have this year’s large software update pushed out to phones sometime in June, and we already had several months of beta testing for the next version of the mobile operating system.
In comparison, Android 15 began performing on Pixel phones in October 2024, but now that Google has changed to launch its flagship hand sets in August – most recently the Pixel 9 series – it is also necessary to get Android ready earlier, ideal.
What we’ve heard so far
We haven’t heard much about a UI 8 to date, but presumably Samsung will follow the lead set by Android 16.
We have also heard a great deal about Samsung’s upcoming foldable. The Galaxy Z Fold 7, for example, will apparently be thinner than its predecessor and should get the usual under hood speed improvements – and perhaps even better cameras.
As for the Galaxy Z Flip 7, the rumors suggest that it comes with a full -size tire screen for the first time, although the design can remain the same (like RAM and storage options). Both Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 apparently get better battery life due to more effective screens.
There has also been a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip See and maybe also a Tri-Fold Samsung foldable, all of which could launch at the same time as the other handsets and at the same time as the UI 8 upgrade.
