Pakistani security forces killed nine militants in an intelligence-based operation in the Takwara area of Dera Ismail Khan late Sunday night, the military’s media wing said on Monday.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), among the killed, several terrorists, including Shireen, were a high value and militant ring leader who was in demand for his commitment to several terrorist attacks.
Shireen had also been involved in the targeted killing of civilians and was responsible for the martyrdom of Captain Hasnain Akhtar.
The military said troops launched the raid based on confirmed intelligence regarding the presence of militants in the area. A tough exchange of fire followed where the militants were “sent to hell,” the statement added.
Weapons and ammunition were regained from the site.
Sanitization operations are ongoing in the surrounding areas to ensure that no other militants remain, the ISPR said, confirming Pakistan’s decision to eliminate terrorism from its land.
Last week, the security forces killed six terrorists in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Kalat district of Balochistan.
The military’s media affairs said the security forces conducted an IBO in Kalat, Balochistan about the reported presence of terrorists.
“During the performance of Operation, his own troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, and after an intense fire exchange, six terrorists were successfully neutralized,” the ISPR declaration states.
It noted that the killed terrorists remained actively involved in “recent terrorist activities” in the area against the law enforcement as well as the innocent civilians.
