Miami Heat star Tyler Herro tried to be just that against Chicago Bulls Wednesday night – a hero.
However, his endeavors came up briefly and he was facing the anger of social media.
The heat was down in five points in the last minute of the game against Bulls. Herro stole the ball away from Bulls Guards Coby White and rather than going for the wide-open lay-up to cut the deficit to three points with the shot clock on their side, Herro pulled up to a 3-pointer.

The ball spun around the edge and out. Chicago won the game, 119-111.
Miami Guard scored 30 points and the team’s loss put them in 10th place in the playoffs-in the outskirts of the play-in tournament. Bulls’ victory put them in front of the heat.
“I felt that shot,” Herro said. “It’s as simple as that. That’s the shot I felt. When I look back on it now, of course, after missing the shot, I should have put up the ball.”

Herro was facing criticism on social media.
Heat Center Bam Adebayo defended herro after the game.
“That child has made a lot of hard buckets in his career,” said Adebayo. “You tip your hat when he shoots something similar. It’s a killer mentality. For me it’s one of the best looks he got all night, so you live with it. Hundred percent wouldn’t you talk about it if he did.”
