USEFP clarifies Global Ugrad Terminating Problems

Islamabad:

In the light of recent media reports and public concern about the cessation of the global bachelor’s exchange program (Global Ugrad) in Pakistan, the United States Education Funds in Pakistan (USEFP) have issued an official statement to clarify the situation and confirm its ongoing commitment to educational cooperation between the United States and Pakistan.

According to USEFP, while the Global Ugrad Program undergoes changes, the United States remains obliged to strengthen people-to-folk-ties with Pakistan through continued academic exchanges.

The organization emphasized that the United States is currently hosting about 11,000 Pakistani students and continuing to welcome more applicants seeking opportunities for higher education in US institutions.

Violation of concern over fate of current global wealth participants confirmed that all 54 Pakistani students currently studying in the United States during the program will end their academic exchanges as planned. “They have and will continue to receive their scholarships and all benefits associated with the program,” the statement states.

The fund also rejected rumors of the termination of the prestigious Fulbright program, clarifying that it remains fully operational and that all Fulbright participants receive their financial support as planned. “The claims that the Fulbright program is completed or students are being stranded in the United States are false,” Usefp said.

The US State Department is currently conducting a strategic global review of its exchange programs to better adapt them with current administrative priorities. USEFP promised to keep the public informed when new details arise about the future of these initiatives.

Despite recent development, several US government-financed exchange opportunities, including the Fulbright program, remain available to Pakistani students and professionals.
