The cause of death for the former NFL Pro Bowl Cornerback Vontae Davis allegedly became indefinitely more than a year after he died in a home in Florida. He was 35.
Davis’ body was found in a home that was registered for his grandmother in Southwest Ranches, Florida, reported WSVN TV. There was no suspicion of any bad game, police said at the time.

“Due to the whole of the circumstances, including discrepancies between the scene and the results of autopsy, the cause and manner of death in this case is best classified as indefinite,” according to ESPN, citing Broward County Medical Examiner’s report.
The report noted that Davis was wearing wear and tear near his right eye and a bleeding in the muscles of his back. A toxicology report also indicated that the former defensive back had drugs in his system, including amphetamines or methamphetamines.
Miami Dolphins chose Davis in the first round of the 2009 draft. He was traded for the Indianapolis Colts before the start of the 2012 season and he had a few big seasons with him.

He joined Buffalo Bills after the 2017 season and performed only one performance for those who retired in the middle of a game.
In 121 games, Davis had 22 cuts and 395 tackles. He was appointed Pro Bowl while he was with Colts in 2014 and 2015.
Former NFL star tight end Vernon Davis, Vonta’s brother, released a heartbreaking statement at the time of his death.
“This thing caught me certainly surprised. I just don’t know what to do from it,” Vernon told the Daily Mail at the time. “I am leaning on the detectives to find out, but right now we have no answers.
