- Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 has been viewed on Geekbench
- The list reveals Android 16 that could make this one of the first phones with that software
- There is also mention of 12 GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 8 Elite Chipset
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is likely to be launched in July, and a sign that it is approaching is that it has been seen on a benchmarking place – revealing some details about the phone in the process.
Leaker Tarun Vats (via Telefonarena) has found a geekbone list for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, and it mentions Android 16 – which, if the phone is launched in July, would mean that it is likely to be one of the first handsets running Android 16.
It’s pretty quick for Samsung, considering that the company still hasn’t got Android 15 running on most of its phones, but it’s something we’ve heard of more than once, so there’s a good chance Android 16 (with Samsung’s One Ui 8 Overlay) will really be available on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 at the launch.

A faster chipset but no increase in ram
This benchmark also mentions 12 GB of RAM, which is the same amount you find in the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6. So it would be nice to see Samsung increase this, but given that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra also has 12 GB, we did not really expect to see more than this.
Finally, it has a motherboard that is listed as “Sun”, which is the codename for Snapdragon 8 Elite, so that’s probably the chipset this phone will use.
It’s good, but not surprising news – good because it’s the most powerful chipset that is currently available for Android phones. Not surprisingly, because the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 used the previous generation of this chipset (Snapdragon 8 Gen 3).
Both the RAM amount and the chipset are also previously leaked, so there are not really any surprises here, but this is only a proof more that suggests that these are the specifications we get.
We probably find out in July, but stay up to date with Techradar meanwhile for additional leaks and rumors.
