Islamabad:

Islamabad High Court (IHC) gave Wednesday Islamabad and Punjab police two weeks to recover four Afghan brothers who have been missing since January 2024.

Justice Muhammad Asif heard the petition of the brothers’ disappearance that disappeared from the federal capital over a year ago.

Senior police officers, including the graves of Islamabad and Lahore, and RPO from Rawalpindi appeared in court.

During the procedure, Justice called Asif mother of the missing men, Yellow Seema, to Rostrum and talked to her in Pashto.

Later he translated her words for the courtroom and said, “She has come to High Court since August. If her sons have died, then tell her.”

The judge added, “Those whose dear are missing dies every moment – how long will this continue?”

You Islamabad requested more time to trace the missing persons, which received criticism from the petitioner’s lawyer, who noted that the case had been pending for eight months without results.

He also questioned whether any four had been registered and whether they applied for all four brothers.

Justice Asif also asked why the police inspector (IGP) was not present, as previously called.

The government attorney said IGP was not available but other senior officers were present.

He again requested to submit a new report.

“There is no sense in repeatedly giving time,” the judge said. “We want the people who are recovered. We give you two weeks – inform us of the results.”

The court ordered the recovery of the missing brothers within the given period and exposed the hearing until May 5.
