PM Shehbaz confirms obligation to strengthen the tape with UK

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has confirmed Pakistan’s obligation to further strengthen his relations with the United Kingdom across several sectors, including trade, investment, education and people-to-people exchanges.

He expressed these views during a meeting with the British Parliamentary Secretary of State for Faith, Society and Resettlement, Lord Wajid Khan, who called him in Islamabad on Thursday.

The Prime Minister recognized the positive role of British Pakistani diaspora in promoting stronger bilateral ties and describing them as an important bridge between the two countries.

He also conveyed his best wishes to His Majesty King Charles III and British Prime Minister Keir Stormmer.

Prime Minister Sharif valued Lord Khan’s ongoing efforts to improve the relations of Pakistan-Uk and explore new opportunities for collaboration.

During the meeting, Lord Wajid Khan informed the prime minister about his recent engagements and initiatives aimed at further strengthening bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.

Separately, Lord Khan held a meeting with Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

Prime Minister of Interior Talal Chaudhry, British High Commissioner Jane Marriott and domestic secretary Khurram Agha were also present.

Interior Minister Naqvi emphasized Pakistan’s interest in increasing cooperation with the United Kingdom across all mutually advantageous sectors.

Lord Khan condemned the recent terrorist attack on Jaffer Express and expanded compassion for the victims’ families. He acknowledged Pakistan’s huge victims in the fight against terrorism.
