The Army Chief’s comments come as the country has rolled under an alarming increase in terrorist attacks, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan – both of which share a border with neighboring Afghanistan – to the brown of the events.

KP and Balochistan, according to the Center for Research and Security Studies (CRSS) report, remains epicenter of violence that accounts for 98% of all deaths, with attacks growing bolder and militant tactics that develop, including the unprecedented hijacking of Jaffar Express. Projections warn of over 3,600 fatalities after the end of the year if the current trends persist, which potentially makes 2025 one of Pakistan’s deadliest years.

During the Q1 2025, Pakistan witnessed 897 violent fatalities and 542 injuries among civilians, security staff and ban. Tallyed by losses, a total of 1,439, came from 354 events, including terrorist attacks and terrorist operations.
