When does the rain system arrive at Punjab?

A rain -bearing weather system is currently present over Lahore and across Punjab, with rainy weather expected in most districts tomorrow, according to Pakistan Meteorological Department.

In a statement from the MET Office, officials confirmed that although the system has settled over the province, the weather is expected to remain dry and warm over most areas today, including Lahore.

For Lahore, the department expected no rainfall on Thursday with dry and warm conditions that were prevalent. However, rain is expected to be accompanied by cloud coverage in the city and several other districts in Punjab on Friday.

Today’s minimum temperature in Lahore was registered at 22 ° C, where maximum temperatures would probably rise up to 39 ° C.

The weather system is expected to bring relief from the ongoing heat waves in several parts of the province.

However, dust with thunderstorms and rain is expected in isolated places in upper khyber-pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan in the evening/night.

The temperature in larger cities recorded this morning:

Islamabad 18 ° C, Karachi 28 ° C, Peshawar and Quetta 20 ° C, Gilgit and Murree 13 ° C and Muzaffarabad 16 ° C.

Earlier on Wednesday, stormy rain, hailstorms and strong wind created destruction on several parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Islamabad.

The serious weather claimed at least three lives, wounded several others, and caused extensive damage to property, crops and infrastructure.

In Punjab, Rawalpindi and Jhelum were hit hard. In Jhelum’s Sohawa Tehsil, three separate wall collapse events occurred due to heavy rain.

In Shahidan, a wall fell on a loader, killed two and injured four others. Two of the wounded remained in critical condition after being moved to a hospital in Rawalpindi.

In other events in Pindi Darwaza and Sohala, a woman, a child and a young man were injured due to collapsed walls.

In Rawalpindis Ratta Amral area, the border wall collapsed in a mosque and killed a 24-year-old man named Musa on the spot.

Islamabad experienced a 35-minute storm that brought heavy rain and large hailstones, damaged vehicles and roll-out of trees in Tarnol, which led to traffic disorders.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, powerful rainfall triggered flash floods and flooded streams in several areas. In the Landi Kotal, the flood on the Pak-Afghan motorway trembled the traffic, and a parked vehicle was swept away even reported for any loss.

Heavy rain also hit lower Dir and Takht Bhai and broke the ongoing heat wave, but causes power cuts and rising river levels, especially in the Panjkora River.
