NPA is undergoing complete revision to meet international standards: Interior Minister

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced on Saturday that the National Police Academy (NPA) has been completely restructured in accordance with international standards to improve the quality of education and professionalism in Pakistan’s police force.

When he spoke on a press briefing, the minister said the reorganization of the Academy is part of a wider strategy to modernize law enforcement institutions across the country.

Naqvi said police officers will now be trained using internationally recognized best practices with an increased focus on human rights, technology, investigative techniques and terrorism strategies.

“This restructuring will ensure that our police force is fully equipped to deal with modern challenges and maintain public confidence,” the minister said. “We are determined to build a police system that is responsive, effective and respected worldwide.”

Monitoring includes updates to the curriculum, upgrading infrastructures, incorporating advanced training simulations and collaboration with international police cars and training institutions.

Coaches from friendly countries will also be invited to help develop a future -ready strength.

The Ministry of the Interior confirmed that a special task force is monitoring the reform process and the first batch of officers under the new system is being examined at the beginning of next year.
