Pakistan and Qatar agree to adopt a common strategy for improved cooperation in the fight against drug trading, which marks a key development after ongoing discussions under the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) frames.
The agreement was achieved during a high -level meeting at Anti Narcotics Force (anf) headquarters in Islamabad, where a delegation from Qatar’s general Directorate of Drugs received a comprehensive briefing on Pakistan’s maturity narcotics efforts, Express News reported.
Both sides held detailed conversations about mutual areas of interest, repeating their common commitment to tackle drug -related crime through intelligence and operational cooperation.
The Qatari delegation also visited Islamabad International Airport as part of a broader assessment of Pakistan’s technical infrastructure.
Qatari officials expressed emergency preparedness to support Pakistan to improve its operational capabilities.
The commitment is part of Pakistan’s broader efforts to create long -term regional partnerships aimed at stemming the flow of drugs.
Officials described the dialogue as a “constructive step” towards the institutionalization of cross -border cooperation.
Anf said the negotiations reflect a mutual understanding that regional threats require coordinated answers, especially in light of developing smuggling networks.
