An anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi has canceled the temporary guarantee of 16 Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) leaders and workers, including Raja Basharat, Sanam Javed, Misshal Yousaia, and Nadia Khattak, over cases related to the protest held on November 26. Journalist Sami Ibrahim is also among those who have been restored.

The hearing on bail petitions was made by Judge Amjad Ali Shah from Anti-Terrorism Court.

During the hearing, prosecutor Zaheer Shah told the court that the defendant had abused the court’s easing in the last four months by repeatedly not appearing in court.

He argued that the defendants deliberately hindered the investigative process and had taken an unnecessary benefit of their preliminary bail.

The prosecutor also presented referrals to Supreme Court orders to support his argument, after which the court canceled bail for all 16 PTI leaders and workers due to non-compliance.
