Lahore police have launched an investigation of the alleged abduction of a 29-year-old woman and her four children who disappeared while voyage to her mother’s house, officials said.
The incident took place in the Gujjarpura area of the city, where a case was registered at the local police station about the complaint about the woman’s husband, Hafiz Mahmood, reported Express News.
According to the first information report (FIR), Amber and her children-eight-year-old Abdullah, six-year-old Zainab, five-year-old Ahmed and two-year-old Umme Hani passed as she was heading to her mother’s home.
The family was last seen leaving together and did not reach their destination.
Police said they are using CCTV recordings to trace the movements of the victims and are hopeful of a breakthrough.
“A joint team consisting of Sho Gujjarpura Mohammad Zaka and officers from the Investigation Unit are actively working on the case,” a police spokesman said.
“We are sure they will soon be regained.”
No suspects have yet been named and the motive behind the abduction remains unclear.
Authorities said that all angles are examined and updates will be shared as the investigation progresses.
