New York Yankees Second Baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. Got a fine and one-game-pension after he swirled out on a referee online and personally after being thrown after a controversial call in the team’s victory over Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday.
MLB Senior Vice President of Operations on the field Michael Hill announced the decision on Friday with reference to a violation of the league’s social media policy.

Chisholm was thrown into the seventh lap after he argued for a third strike call from the record Judge John Bacon. After arguing at the record, Chisholm was thrown out of the game.

According to mlb.com, Chisholm then went to social media to share his meaning difference. He sent a post on x around 7 p.m. 21.24 that read, “Not even F — ing close.” The position was sent while the game was still going on and was quickly deleted.
The post was an apparent violation of Major League Baseball’s Social media Policy prohibiting the use of electronic devices during games. According to the policy, “electronic equipment” may not be used 30 minutes before the start of a game before its conclusion.

In addition, the policy prohibits any content “that questions or otherwise denigers a larger or minor league judge.” Chisholm’s actions Thursday night seemed to violate both of these rules.
He was fined with a non-public amount and was suspended for a game. Because he appealed the decision, Chisholm was able to play in New York’s 1-0 win over Tampa Bay Friday night. He started at the second base and went 0 for 4 with two strikes.

“I’m a competitor, so when I go out there and I want to be right and you say something to me that I think don’t make sense, I’ll be fired up and get upset,” Chisholm said after his draft.
“I lost my feelings. I lost my cool. So at the same time, I still had to be able to stay out there and play defense of my team. That’s why I’m here.”
