Star Wars: Starfighter Throw Ryan Gosling and sent the fans over the moon. But Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy revealed that it’s hard to keep his look a secret.

“Sean started talking about Ryan right from the start. When he developed this, he had Ryan in mind,” said the chief executive during an interview with Screenrant, referring to director Shawn Levy at Star Wars Celebration 2025.

But Kathleen shared how difficult it was to keep Ryan’s casting while wrapping. “It’s difficult,” she said, adding, “with Star Wars, it’s really tough because everyone wants to know things so rumors come out.”

The president continued, “It was fun to hear Shawn kind of tee up with Ryan. Because there are countless rumors – some things are facts and some things are not.”

“Really, as we see it is [that] We just don’t respond to any of it. At the end of the day we only have to talk about the things we know are real and do not really spend time talking about speculation. It’s basically how we handle it, ”Kathleen concluded.
